Senior Developer Java/J2EE focus, to c£45K+bens
Our client is a a dynamic, innovative, established technology provider with a great track record and big plans for the future. They have an opening for an Application Developer, with a good mix of statically typed languages (e.g. Java, C, C++, Delphi or C#) and dynamic (e.g. PHP, Perl, Ruby).

The Application Developer should be not only able to solve problems but will own what theyre doing and take it to the next level. They will need to have the confidence to switch between technologies and possess a range of programming languages they are not looking for those who are focused on a particular one. We want someone who has the ability to build great software, coupled with the willingness and drive to continue learning. After all, you will be the one in control of your career.
Requirements:
The Developer must have
A wide experience with a variety of programming languages. A good mix of statically typed languages (e.g. Java, C, C++, Delphi or C#) and dynamic (e.g. PHP, Perl, Ruby).
The ability to take a flexible and pragmatic approach to language and tool selection, with a preference for open source.
A commitment to test-first development, automated testing, continuous integration and disciplined version control.
Implements and consumed web services and can explain where SOAP and REST are best suited and why.
A good understanding of relational and non-relational databases, query languages (e.g. SQL and SPARQL) and APIs (e.g. JDBC, ODBC)
Experience of development across multiple platforms such as Linux, Windows and Solaris.
Familiarity with web application servers like Tomcat and Jetty.
